Shipping

Freight delivery across North America. Built on Vancouver Island, shipped direct to your site.

How It Works

Every Forest Cooperage product ships by freight directly from our workshop on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Shipping is quoted per order based on your product, delivery location, and site requirements — one accurate cost, and the right carrier for your shipment.

Your written quote includes freight as part of your project total. The freight cost in your quote is the freight cost you pay — see Quotes & Pricing below.

Delivery Details

Our standard delivery is curbside, to a truck-accessible location. Terminal pickup, commercial-address delivery, and special handling are also available — see Delivery Options below.

What's Included with Standard Delivery

  • Curbside delivery to an accessible location
  • Hydraulic liftgate service
  • Shipment tracking
  • Residential delivery

Site Requirements

  • Deliveries typically arrive by box truck. Standard driveway or street access is usually sufficient
  • If you have a tight approach, steep grade, or gated entry, let us know when requesting a quote and we'll plan accordingly
  • Items are delivered to the curb or nearest accessible point
  • You are responsible for moving the product from the curb to its final location
  • Oversized products — including large saunas, hot tubs, and water cisterns — may require a forklift on site or a crane truck for delivery. We'll advise on equipment needs when quoting your order

How Products Ship

  • Every order is packed in a custom-built plywood shipping crate designed to protect your product through freight handling. We want it to arrive in the same condition it left our shop
  • One- and two-person oval soaking tubs ship with the tub body pre-assembled — drain and equipment connections are made on site
  • All other products ship flat-packed in crates. All parts can be hand-unloaded from the crate on site
  • Fully assembled shipping may be available for some products on a case-by-case basis — ask when requesting your quote

Delivery Options

  • Curbside residential — our standard delivery, described above
  • Commercial address — delivery to a business with a loading dock or forklift often costs less than residential and handles any crate size. If you have access to one, tell us when requesting your quote
  • Freight terminal pickup — collect your order from the nearest carrier terminal with a truck and trailer; the terminal forklift-loads for you. Often the fastest and most economical option for remote and off-grid locations, and we'll recommend it when it's the better route
  • Crane truck or special handling — quoted individually where site access requires it

When you request a quote, we'll ask a few questions about your site — road access, steep grades, tight turns, turnaround space, gates — so your delivery is planned right the first time.

Delivery Scheduling

24–48 hours advance notice is provided. Deliveries are Monday through Friday.

Orders held beyond 30 days after completion, at the customer's request, are subject to storage fees. We'll confirm storage terms with you before your build is finished.

Ordering & Payment

Every order moves through three milestones, and we confirm each one in writing so you always know where your build stands.

Your Quote

  • Written quotes are valid for 30 days from issue
  • A 50% deposit confirms your order and locks your product pricing and quoted freight
  • Quoted freight is honoured for orders shipping within six months of deposit. Customer-requested delays beyond that window may require a freight requote at current rates
  • International shipments are quoted at time of booking — see International below

Production

  • We notify you when your build enters production, with your estimated completion date
  • Cancellation terms are set out in your written quote

Completion & Delivery

  • When your build is complete, we send photos of your finished product along with your balance invoice
  • The remaining balance is due within 14 days of completion notice, and delivery is scheduled once the balance is received
  • We store completed orders free of charge for 30 days from completion notice. After 30 days, monthly storage applies: $100 CAD / $75 USD for soaking tubs and cold plunges; $200 CAD / $150 USD for hot tubs, saunas, and cisterns — in the currency of your order

Your written quote is the governing document for your order. The terms on this page are a summary; where they differ, your quote applies.

Inspection & Damage

Inspect your shipment immediately upon delivery. If you see any visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos. If damage looks severe, photograph everything, ask the carrier to note it, and contact us before refusing delivery — in most cases accepting with damage noted protects your claim. Report concealed damage within five days. Contact us for claim assistance.

Refused Shipments

Refused shipments are subject to return freight and restocking charges. Please contact us before refusing a delivery.

United States

We deliver to the contiguous United States. Residential and commercial addresses are serviced wherever standard truck access is available.

Special arrangements are required for Alaska, Hawaii, military bases, US territories, island locations, and remote areas without road access. Contact us for a custom delivery plan.

Customs & duties: Our products currently enter the United States duty-free under the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). No import duties or brokerage fees apply, and there is nothing for you to handle at the border. Duty status is confirmed on every written quote. If trade policy changes affect a confirmed order, we'll contact you before shipping to review options.

State and local sales taxes may apply. In states where Forest Cooperage does not collect sales tax, you may be responsible for reporting and remitting use tax directly to your state.

Canada

We deliver across Canada wherever standard freight access is available.

Special arrangements are required for remote northern communities, island locations requiring ferry transport, and areas without standard road access. Contact us for a custom delivery plan.

Domestic shipping — no customs clearance required.

All Canadian orders are priced in Canadian dollars. No customs duties or cross-border fees apply. Applicable provincial and federal sales taxes apply.

International

We ship worldwide. International orders are quoted individually based on destination, product dimensions, and delivery requirements. Shipments may travel by ocean container, air freight, or a combination depending on timeline and location.

International freight is quoted at time of booking. Customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed. We work with experienced freight forwarders and can coordinate delivery to port, job site, or final destination.

If you're a hotel group, resort, or design firm specifying our products for an international project, contact us early in the planning process so we can align shipping with your construction timeline.
