Cedar Hot Tub

Cedar Hot Tub

Coopered western red cedar, built in Sooke, British Columbia

Questions? Give us a call and we'll help you decide. 1 877 557 1961

Clear vertical grain western red cedar staves, precision-milled and drawn tight by stainless steel bands. No liner, no shell. The wood is the tub.

Construction

Stave-and-band coopering — the method used for working wooden vessels for centuries. Available in 5, 6, and 7 ft diameters at 3, 3.5, and 4 ft heights; larger diameters and custom dimensions on request. Ships flat-packed throughout North America, duty-free to the US; assembled delivery available at additional cost.

Heating

Four ways to heat, and the right one depends on climate and how the tub will be used.

Wood-fired — an internal stove in marine-grade aluminum, with chimney and protective fence. No electrical or gas connection required. Wood-fired tubs have a three-sided bench.

Electric — 5.5 kW Gecko Spa heater, or 8 kW and 11 kW systems by ACC Spas. High-speed jet configurations use stainless steel jets. Full four-sided seating.

Gas and propane — Jandy and Hayward heating packages; Jandy systems are automation-compatible. Jetted gas tubs run a secondary pump. Gas and propane installations require clearance from doors and windows — a siting consideration to resolve at design stage. Full four-sided seating.

Heat pump — available; specifications on request.

The right system depends on climate and use case — how fast the tub needs to come to temperature, how often it will be used, and what utilities the site offers. We'll walk through it as part of any quote.

Options

Insulated covers, equipment enclosures, cedar surrounds, perimeter shelving, wifi control, and supplemental water care systems.

Specifying

Standard sizes or made to dimension. Lead time approximately 8 weeks from receipt of 50% deposit to shipping; 12–16 weeks typical for custom sizing. Filled weight varies by size — a 7 × 4 ft tub holds 847 gallons, over 7,000 lb (3,200 kg) of water alone, before structure and occupants. Confirm structural loading at design stage; capacity and weight tables are included in the drawings above.
